This is
interesting: it's a 1660 map of lower Manhattan
laid over a current map. That's a lot of landfill over 400 years or

Wednesday 9.12
Okay, here's a presidential candidate Miller can get behind:
Lee Mercer. He has 70 reasons he wants to be president. Here's
number one:

Federal Congress has encouraged me to want to become President of the
United States so that I can do what the President of the United States
of America is supposed to do and complete the federal and military
government biography and autobiography in development in Eye Spy
Community-Military Intelligence (All Three) Business and Commerce
Intelligence Education across the board National and International.
Wha??
Tuesday 9.11
Miller will be over at the Dutchess County SPCA later today helping out,
since like a lot of you we have trouble figuring out the best way to
observe 9/11. Check out
www.mygooddeed.org (searchable by zip) for other ways you can help
your community. It's an excellent start for the easily-confused but
well-meaning...and boy, is that ever us.
If
you're sick of the stories about lead-contaminated Chinese toys but
can't figure out where to buy toys made in the US,
this link will point you to a number of sources - alternately, just
track down a small local toy store and chances are they'll hook you up.
(The home page of this link also has the info on that Imaginarium crayon
set that's been recalled.)
